NEW YORK In exchange for a potential salary cut of $113 million, Jalen Brunson was named team captain by the New York Knicks.
evidentthat the team and players believe in one another after two seasons of a collaboration that has contributed to the Knicks’ most success in 25 years. They can now wait a couple more years to see whether it can produce anything more.
“This is merely the start,” Brunson declared on Thursday. The organization threw a formal celebration for Brunson at Madison Square Garden, filled with luminaries like actor and Knicks supporter Ben Stiller and Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing. In the video, Ewing narrated a picture of himself with Brunson.
