49ers Injury Updates: Due To Knee Arthritis, Jake Brendel Is Anticipated To Miss OTAs.

Following OTA practice on Tuesday afternoon, head coach Kyle Shanahan of the San Francisco 49ers gave an update on injuries. Many players were absent, but Shanahan doesn’t think it’s a big deal because they are optional sessions.

Edge rusher Nick Bosa was there, but defensive tackle Maliek Collins will be out for another week while he awaits his children’s graduation, and Drake Jackson isn’t well enough to practice.

Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings weren’t there. Regarding whether those extra reps will benefit a guy such as Ricky Pearsall, here’s Shanahan:

“In my opinion, the more repetitions you receive, the more experience you gain, and the more diverse scenarios you may be placed in, the better. You can only get better if you possess the necessary skills and qualities. However, it might occasionally be challenging to produce those items in a practice at a reduced pace. However, getting more reps always benefits the appropriate kind of player.
